Question papers not leaked from Saptari: Probe panel

Rajbiraj, March 30

A four-member probe committee formed by the Saptari District Administration Office to investigate leakage of question papers of Science and Social Studies today concluded that the papers were not leaked from the district.

The probe committee formed three days ago made public its report at an interaction programme held at District Police Office, Saptari, in the presence of chairs of exam centres. Education Development and Coordination Committee Officer ChhabiKhadka, Inspector Guru Prasad Timsina, National Investigation Department’s assistant chief MukeshYadav and APF ASI SanjuKhatri were members of the committee.

Making the report public, Chief District Officer SurendraPoudel claimed that the probe team had investigated all 17 areas and 34 exam centres and concluded that test papers were not leaked from the district.

CDO Poudel, who is also the Exam Coordination Committee Coordinator, said they had carried out minute investigation into test papers, their seal and other processes.

He urged all and sundry not to run after rumours. “Efforts are being made to defame DAO and the locals of Saptari. Thus, all of us have to be careful and cautious to stop this,” Poudel added.

SP RajendraBista said that some elements were trying to instigate tensed SEE students after the cancellation of their exams to disturb peace and harmony.

“Some forces are hell-bent on provoking students to vandalize and stage chakkajam”, said SP Bista. Five police personnel were injured in the vandalism. He said that police had maintained restrain and urged students to maintain restrain too.

In the wake of leakage of test papers, a team from Province Police Bureau and Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrived for the investigation into the test papers leakage in Rajbiraj. The team has started its work with support from IT experts, said CDO Poudel.
