LAMJUNG: Vehicular movement along the landslide-hit Besisahar-Chame road section is yet to be fully operational.
The road has been blocked since Wednesday after the rain caused landslides at various places including Kharkhare Bhir, Ghopte Bhir, and Kavre Bhir. The entire road has been swept away in some places.
The disruption in traffic movement has affected locals, tourists, transport entrepreneurs, and hotel operators.
Currently, traffic is open from Besisahar to Arkhale and Manang to Kavre Bhir of the road section, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yadav Dhakal, Lamjung District Police Office.
The attempt to fully open the road is ongoing and will be functional after removing the landslide debris, DSP Dhakal added.
According to Deputy Chief District Officer Kajiman Sunar, the landslides have damaged various parts of the road section and a new track is required to operate the road.
A team including personnel from Nepal Army and Nepal Police with appropriate equipment are working to remove the debris and big stones from the road.
