BHAKTAPUR: Bhaktapur has witnessed snowfall this morning after 12 years.
The snowfall has affected normal lives at Nagarkot, Changunarayan, Sudal, Tathali, Chitpole, Nakhel, Sipadi, Nalinchowk, Gundu, Ranikot and Chyampedanda of Bhaktapur. Urban areas of Bhaktapur like Madhyapur Thimi, Changunarayan and Suryabinayak also witnessed snowfall.
The transportation service has not been smoothly operating in touristic areas of Bhaktapur district including Nagarkot, Sudal and Ranikot due to the snow.
According to Som Sharma Bajgain, a local of Telkot, vehicular service en route to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur has been disrupted due to snowfall since early this morning.
However, the inflow of domestic tourists to the snow-covered areas including Nagarkot has gone up and is expected to rise during the day today, said Gokul Lamichhane, a hotel entrepreneur.
Some of the areas of Kathmandu and Lalitpur also received snowfall this morning.
