Khutruke saving campaign gaining popularity in Khotang

Khutruke Saving campaign has attracted locals of Chharka in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Khotang.

Locals have started saving money after attending financial literacy classes conducted by Safe Immigration Project and Child Help Society in the village recently.

At least a member from each household in the village has gone for foreign employment and many families are involved in agriculture and business. A local, Bhakta Kumari Rai, 42, financial literacy classes had helped them to save money wisely.

Another local, Renuka Rai, 30, said that she saved the money earned from selling cabbage saplings. She added that she learnt the importance of savings after taking the literacy classes.

Meanwhile, facilitator the financial literary classes Min Prasad Acharya said they conducted the classes to motivate the locals to utilise their savings. He added that the locals have started to keep record of their daily expenses and save certain amount on a daily basis.
